Goals, activities and expected/achieved results:

E2B2-PHACAR aims to explore a new biorefinery concept, the Extractive Extrusion-Based Biorefinery (E2B2), where a biomass is fed to an extruder for the continuous and sequential extraction of a cascade of products. Fermentation broths of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) from mixed microbial cultures (MMC) and seaweeds containing hybrid carrageenans (HK) will be tested for E2B2.
